ARTICLE II.
MUNICIPAL BAND COMMISSION*

Sec. 26-26. Established; composition; appointments.

There is hereby established a municipal band commission to consist of the mayor, who shall be the president of the band commission, one member of the council, to be named by the mayor, and three members of the municipal band, to be appointed by the mayor by and with the advice and consent of the council.

Sec. 26-27. Term.

The term of appointment of members of the municipal band commission shall be for five years or until their successors are appointed.

Sec. 26-28. Removal of members.

The mayor may, by and with the consent of the city council, remove any member of the band commission for misconduct or neglect of duty. The officers of such commission, at the expiration of the final municipal year for which such commission is appointed, shall deliver to their successors in office all the books, records, papers or supplies pertaining to such office.

Sec. 26-29. Powers and duties; limitations.

The municipal band commission shall, immediately after appointment, assume the management and control of the municipal band of the city, subject at all times to the supervision and direction of the council, and in any matters of controversy, action by the council by ordinance or resolution shall be final and conclusive.

Sec. 26-30. Officers.

Immediately after appointment, the municipal band commission shall organize by electing from the members thereof a chairperson, a secretary and a treasurer. The commission shall have charge of and direct the expenditures of the band tax fund subject to the limitations imposed by section 26-29, and any orders drawn on such tax shall be signed by the treasurer of the commission and countersigned by the chairman thereof, and a true record thereof kept.

Sec. 26-31. Reports of disbursements required.

It shall be the duty of the treasurer of the municipal band commission to report in writing to the council, at each regular meeting thereof, all of the disbursements and expenditures of the band.
